Advanced Bi-Horn Engineering

The XY-2E features a precision-engineered Bi-horn system that enhances clarity and accuracy across the mid and high frequency range. The 8-inch mid driver and 1-inch compression driver are aligned with identical depth positions, ensuring minimal phase cancellation around the crossover point. Furthermore, the curved waveguide controls dispersion at 50° horizontal and 35° vertical, producing clean, natural sound in the targeted area while reducing unnecessary spill.

Flexible Passive and Bi-Amp Operation

This loudspeaker gives engineers complete control thanks to its dual-mode configuration. In passive mode, it delivers the iconic warm and powerful XY Series sound. However, by simply adjusting the internal wiring, users can activate bi-amp mode and individually manage the MF and HF drivers. This option brings more precision, making the XY-2E suitable for advanced venues and large-scale touring configurations.

X-Phase System for Enhanced Output

Pioneer integrates its signature X-Phase system into the XY-2E to eliminate cone cancellation and increase projection. The convex phase plug forces sound waves through carefully shaped slits arranged in a fan pattern. As these waves exit perfectly aligned, the system delivers higher SPL, improved long-distance projection, and cleaner detail across mid-high frequencies.

Versatile Deployment Options

Because the XY-2E supports a wide variety of rigging and stacking options, installers can tailor it to any environment. It can be deployed as a single unit, arranged horizontally in clusters, flown from low ceilings, or built into a 3 × 3 point-source array using compatible XY Series rigging accessories. Additionally, the XY-2E integrates efficiently beneath XY-1 and XY-2E arrays for expanded mid-high coverage.

Built for Durability

The XY-2E is constructed with rugged 15 mm birch plywood and finished with a textured polyurethane coating that protects it from impact, weather, and demanding touring conditions. The black models include an elastothane coating for added weather resistance. This strength ensures long-term reliability whether the system is used indoors, outdoors, or on the road.
