High-Performance High-Frequency and Low-Frequency System

The high-frequency section features a pure 1.25-inch titanium compression driver attached to a rotatable constant-directivity waveguide. As a result, the speaker maintains consistent coverage and smooth tonal response across its 90° x 60° pattern.

Meanwhile, its high-output EVS-2008 low-frequency woofer uses modern computer-optimized design to enhance efficiency, reduce distortion, and improve clarity at high SPL levels. With a modified fourth-order crossover achieving 24 dB per octave, the EVC-1082-96B delivers improved vocal presence and excellent off-axis response.

Installation-Friendly and Cost-Effective

Because the enclosure is built from durable 15 mm plywood coated with EVCoat, it can withstand demanding installation environments. Multiple M10 suspension points allow easy rigging, and you can also install optional accessories such as a U-bracket or pan/tilt wall mount.

Additionally, the speaker supports 10 AWG (6 mm) wiring, making it suitable for professional-scale installations.

The input panel accepts optional NL4 connector plates and weather-resistant gland-nut covers, which expand installation flexibility.

70V/100V Operation with Optional Transformer

If you need distributed audio, the EVC-1082-96B allows installation of EV’s TK-150 transformer. Once installed, the transformer activates Electro-Voice’s patented Automatic Saturation Compensation (ASC). Consequently, the low-frequency performance stays stable and clear even when multiple loudspeakers run in parallel on a 70V/100V system.

Remarkably, the speaker sounds almost identical with or without the transformer, ensuring consistent audio quality across your installation.
